INSTRUCTIONS

Before you begin, select the colours you would like to paint your wreath, these can be lovely Spring colours or a section that fits your home decor.

HOW TO MAKE THE CENTRE RING

  • Draw around the outside of a dining plate.
  • Cut out shape.
  • Using a small bowl or glass draw round this in the centre.
  • Cut out the middle.
  • Paint the ring white before painting a colour. The wreath base on this design is green.

THE DAFFODIL

Cut out the outer petals

  • Using a piece of cereal box card, draw around a small bowl, approximately 10cm wide. Cut out the circle.
  • To create the petals, mark 5 equal divisions around the outside of the circle.
  • Snip curved petals from these marks.

Create the inner petals and stamen

  • Cut out two of the egg compartments from the box, as close to the top as possible.
  • For the inner petal, snip a scalloped shape along the top.
  • For the stamen, cut the top of the compartment down a little so it is smaller than the previous petal. Snip all the way around, close to the base approximately 6mm apart.

Painting

  • Paint all of these sections white and allow to dry.
  • Then paint the petals yellow and leave the stamen white.

THE DITSY FLOWER

  • Using the lip of a drinking glass, draw a circle onto some card.
  • Mark 8 equal divisions around the outside of the circle and snip down these lines curving each to make a petal shape.

THE ROSE

To create the rose petals

  • Cut out 2 egg compartments
  • Snip 5 petal shapes into the card.
  • Paint both and allow to dry.
  • Cut one line half way into the centre of the base of the egg compartment.

Compile the rose

  • Carefully pinch together into a bud shape. Glue one side of the snipped base and overlap, hold down until dry.
  • Next glue the underside of the bud to the middle of the outer flower shape. This should now fit in snuggly completing the rose shape.

THE LEAVES

  • To make a simple leaf, fold a piece of paper in half, draw out half a leaf. Cut out and use as a template. You can use the lid of the egg boxes.

IMG_2381.jpg

  • You can also create some different leaf shapes for variety, here are some examples. Using the egg cup lid or if bigger some card, trace round your leaves and cut out.
  • I this wreath there are 3 assorted shapes.
  • Paint a variation of colours. IMG_2382.jpg

VARIATIONS ON FLOWERS

  • Using a glue gun or UHU glue attach them to the base.
